Fenugreek Oil Origin and Extraction

Fenugreek Oil is obtained through steam distillation using the seeds of the fenugreek plant. Fenugreek is an annual plant belonging to the pea family, and is often known as methi. India is the largest grower of fenugreek.

Fenugreek Oil Essential Oil Indications/Uses  

Fenugreekl Essential Oil has multiple uses. It supports breast enhancement, increases breast milk in lactating women, increases sexual desire and aids with symptoms related to premenstrual syndrome and menopause. It is beneficial for symptoms related to digestion (gastritis, constipation, loss of appetite, etc). It also supports heart health by lowering blood pressure, lowering levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood and by preventing atherosclerosis. Other uses include support of kidney health and ease of symptoms of hernia and erectile dysfunction. 

Fenugreek Essential Oil is also helpful to combat skin conditions such as acne and boils, as well as a remedy for colds and other upper respiratory conditions.

It is also used to combat diabetes.

Fenugreek Oil Contra Indications

In large dosages, Fenugreek Oil can cause intestinal distress. It can cause respiratory conditions in sensitive persons as well as lowering blood pressure.  Pregnant women should avoid using this product as it could lead to miscarriage.  Persons taking medications for diabetes or medications that slow blood clotting may experience adverse effects.
